February 2013, Mark decided it was time to come home and run this business with me full time. We were making a lot more money at this MLM part time thing than his full time business so it only made sense. No more stress, no more 9-5, and we could begin building this life of design. It was AMAZING! We were both home with our girls to go to events, bring them to and from school and just do what we want when we want. Things were amazing but still a little chaotic and unclear with the business.

I believe it was the event, Camp Do More in 2013 where Chalene Johnson and her husband Bret did a couples speech. They talked about how they turned Chalene’s business into Team Johnson and gave lots of amazing tips. Mark was not there with me, but I remember taking so many notes thinking “OH man I wish Mark was here” One of the biggest tips was to have a business meeting and ask your partner what THEY want to do in this business. Up until this point, Mark was asking and I was telling, no Bueno. I remember coming home and Facebooking Mark while he was downstairs on the computer telling him that I would like to schedule a business meeting on the couch that evening at 9PM. He was like “YES” yup you know where his mind was LOL. So 9pm came and he didn’t show up and I said “I am serious please come up here” (disclaimer: I may or may not have said please) Well, lucky for me, he showed up. We began chatting about what he would see as his role in this health and fitness business we were running together and he was coming up with all these amazing ideas that I had NO IDEA he wanted to do. LADIES, Listen to your man MORE, they have AMAZING IDEAS!!!! You just have to ask for them!

From that point on, our days were structured way better, but things were still a bit of a struggle.

NEXT TURNING POINT……….

Well March 2014, we attended SMART SUCCESS with Team Johnson. Mark wasn’t sure what this was about (he didn’t do his module homework ahead of time, shame shame…..) I kept trying to explain things like “We had to hire someone to do laundry and we had to hire assistants and we shouldn’t be doing anything because Chalene says to DELEGATE it all” Well hearing it from me wasn’t as strong as hearing it from Chalene, so thank goodness he showed up. In the first hour of Live Smart Success, Mark turned to me and said “We have already made our money back on this investment to be here” He was blown away by Chalene Johnson and her team and what they put together. He kept saying “OUR whole team needs to be here and so doesn’t this business owner and this business owner” He couldn’t believe the value and it was not even ½ of day 1 over. There was even a point when Bret Johnson got up to speak and I went to ask Mark a question and he SHUSHED ME, WHAT?? The remainder of the weekend just kept getting better and better and the vision of TEAM JONES running this business together was born and Mark has not said again “well this is Nicole’s thing and I just help” NOPE we are a team and force to be reckoned with NOW!

Our business still needs improving and so do we, but Mark is NOT the same man he was before Smart Success. Let me share some things……

We hired a house cleaner, laundry woman, landscapers, business assistant and now after smart success PERSONAL ASSISTANT who helps keep the house in order, helps with the kids, grocery shopping and laundry putting away and sooooo much more. We now work for 9-2 each and every day, actually only Monday-Thursday and Friday is PLAY DAY! Mark usually goes fishing and I go the salon or sometimes we do lunch and even ends up being a business meeting because we can’t stop planning our future. WE love this business and we love working together (I totally questioned if I could be with Mark all day everyday LOL, but truthfully I miss him when he goes fishing) We are living life by design 4 years later and we could NOT have done this without TEAM JOHNSON and their amazing events or if we could, it would’ve taken a lot longer. We were flying home from Marketing Impact Academy (another Team Johnson event) and Mark WORKED the ENTIRE plane ride home! That was always ME, but I kept looking over at him and he was heavy into Facebook ads and so much more.

We now pay it forward by running couples mastermind groups to help couples come together and create a life by design that they both want!
